My boy, Mack, is free to run like the wind and chase balls again. He was rescued from being dumped out in the oilfield back in 2016. He was nursed back to health and enjoyed 6 1/2 years as a Schmidt. His DNA test said he was half Border Collie and half Poodle.
He loved going to Saddleback Park and running freely. His favorite game was chasing and returning the squeaker ball, running faster than any other dog there. Many commented on how fast he was! We would have to make him take breaks to cool down. He also enjoyed riding in the car, windows down, his head sticking out with mouth wide open…I think he cooled off that way.
He was a gentle soul we called “Mr. Mack Sir” or “Mack Daddy”. In a family with a lot of girl pups, he was the consummate gentleman. He was also the favorite of his Aunt Tina from Phoenix.
Mack was preceded in death by kitty sister Kara and is survived by his parents J. and D. Schmidt, kitty sister Zoe, kitty brothers Grady and Tucker, and pup sisters the Spice Girls Cinnamon Ginger and Jasmine.
Rest in peace, my boy, you will always be missed, remembered, and loved.
