Remi Montano

d. 2024

Farmington NM

Remi’s little stubby tail wagging when I talked to her is forever imprinted in my mind. It said I love you Mom and Dad. Remi was adopted from the Farmington Animal Shelter in 2021, and we never knew her true birthdate, but we think she was about 11 or 12 when she passed 12-30-24. Even though Remi joined our family only a short 4 years ago, she had a big impact on our household. Remi quickly became the Alpha dog to our other two dogs. She loved being the boss dog and when we were not looking would have at least one dog herded up in a corner. They listened to those barred teeth. However, Remi was the sweetest dog to us, her humans. She was totally devoted to us and was our protector and companion. She never wandered away from us even when the gates were open. She loved going on walks in the hills and checking out all the smells. She watched after her pack and made sure we all stayed together, especially me and her wondering little brother. She could read us from across the room and would obey us with silent signals. Remi had a whole life before she came to live with us. She was taught not to beg from the table in her previous life. We taught her in our house dogs could have little treats now and then. It took a little time for her to embrace this practice, but she did get it down! Remi was a good girl, and she is very missed. Remi leaves behind her little brother, Rocky, and joins her brother, Buster, whom she most often herded into corners when mom was not looking. Take care of Buster Remi and don’t pick on him! Love you Remi girl.
